Derivatives of 2-thioxoimidazolidin-4-one possess a broad spectrum of pharmacological action. A series of 2-thioxoimidazolidin-4-one derivatives were synthesized and were characterized by Mass, IR and 1H NMR spectroscopy. All these synthesized compounds were tested for in vitro antimicrobial against four Gram positive bacteria, four Gram negative bacteria and four fungal strains in polar solvent DMSO. Among the screened compounds, RPI-10 containing hydroxyl group as substituent exhibited most potent antimicrobial activity.
